Acquisition of the company RSB

Cordon Group expands its scope of intervention and expertise in the recycling and recovery of WEEE with the acquisition of RSB

Published on 25 February 2022

Cordon Group is pleased to announce the acquisition of RSB (Recycling System Box), located in the French Alps, in Amancy.

Specialising in the collection, recycling and recovery of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), RSB employs 16 people, who join the Cordon Group adventure. This team is completed by more than 20 disabled people who carry out daily sorting, depollution and dismantling of electronic waste on its site, in Adapted Companies.  RSB, whose experience has been recognised since 2002, offers effective and innovative recycling solutions for WEEE*, which is complex waste to process and can be a major source of pollution if not recycled in good environmental conditions.

Founded by myself just 20 years ago, and over the years it has become the European leader in recycling end-of-life telecom products. The integration in Cordon Group was a natural step because we share the same values, particularly human and environmental ones. The complementary nature of our respective activities will enable us to go even further and meet the growing needs of our customers,” says Damien Cocula, its founder and current director.

Two leaders in telecom products in their own field

RSB has a very strong commercial position with the five major French operators. This acquisition therefore enables Cordon Group to strengthen its existing partnerships with its major customers. RSB was already a partner of Cordon Group, which subcontracted part of its box and set-top box processing operations. RSB recycles more than 90% of the boxes and decoders found in French homes and is also expanding in Europe. RSB has developed its offer and services with the aim of providing the best possible return to its customers and meeting or exceeding the recycling and recovery targets set out in the regulations in force.

The acquisition of RSB made sense in our development strategy. Beyond the obvious synergies between our two companies from a customer and business point of view, this acquisition is in line with our CSR commitments and the circular economy. This acquisition will enable us to enrich and complete our range of services by extending the scope of our expertise to the recycling and recovery of WEEE. We can thus offer global solutions to our customers, from manufacturing to dismantling and recycling of WEEE”, says Serge Cordon, CEO of Cordon Group.
